Justin joins us this week to explain scaling a business. He used the methods with his own business. This is so his own business could grow; he employs new people, creates a plan for a business’s growth, and sets the plan into action whilst working alongside the business. Justin’s own business is all about scaling models of trains. He has used his ‘scaling a business’ techniques to grow his own train modelling business.
What is Justin’s business?
Justin makes accessories and buildings for model railway set enthusiasts. He doesn’t sell trains, tracks or remote controllers. His business sells all the parts you will need to turn a train set into a high quality, realistic model railway.
What do your clients like about Scale Model Scenery?
Justin hopes that his clients will like their quality of service and their approachability. Scale Model Scenery is a small business with a family feel within the company. They think differently and create things that most people would not think of. They provide things for people that people don’t bother doing or don’t think about.
How big is the market for scaling a business?
Justin believes that the market is rapidly growing. He has gone from working in a bedroom to a 1500 square foot unit and has run out of space! He feels as though he has barely scratched the surface on the products he could use and believes there is a lot more he can do for the business to grow.
