His new podcast offers him cannabis industry networking opportunities. The cannabis market size is roughly $13 billion now. It’s forecast to grow to $70 billion in 7 years! So you can see, it’s a sound strategy for him to become a vocal advocate for the cannabis industry.

Being a Cannabis Advocate
Pat plans to use his Cannabis Advocate Podcast as a way to network. He wants to be a match-maker. Moreover, he wants to be an advocate for the Cannabis industry. In the United States, cannabis is legal in some States, but not at the Federal level.
However, as there are problems with products crossing state borders. More than that, there are problems with banking too. Pat says that over time he wants to connect with people. You can do that with a podcast.
Is Cannabis a Gateway to Other Drugs?
However, Pat says it isn’t. On the other hand, you might want to look at this NIH Research Report. Meantime, it does seem to have an interesting history.

Pat is vehement about Cannabis not being a gateway drug. He cited the 1980s and Nancy Reagan pushing the ‘gateway’ drug agenda. The process States take, like California, is decriminalisation, then medical use, then adult use. But, it’s a slow process.
Pat’s wife’s story
The pharmaceutical industry does not want cannabis legalisation. Pat reckons the hero stories will start to gain acceptance.
Pat is a stoic. He doesn’t work in a world of fear. Instead, he wants to exude courage, wisdom and kindness.
Kevin mentioned Russell Thackeray and CBD – a previous podcast. His point is it’ll take time through regulation cycles to make cannabis legal. Pat sees opportunity in the problems besetting the industry.
How Will Pat Monetise the Podcast?
It is a growing market. 5x in the next 7 years. An index play would seem a sensible investment.
