Being a Business Sounding Board with Phil Fraser

What is a business sounding board? Well, it’s a cross between a business mentor and a business coach. Phil is a ‘got the T shirt’ adviser. Moreover, he makes for a useful business sounding board when you are stuck.

Phil Fraser, The Next 100 Days Podcast, Business Sounding Board

What is a Sounding Board?

Phil says it helps not to be in the business. That way he can stay curious. The more curious he is, the better questions he can ask. As he is looking at a business from the outside in, it gives him a different perspective from the owner.

2 Classic Questions to ask…

  1. Why did you do that?
  2. Why did you do it that way?

Business owners hate those questions. The answer is usually, I did it like that in my old business, or, we’ve always done it like that. As Phil says, those are TERRIBLE answers.
