Out of Europe – 10 Post Brexit Tips to Help Businesses Prepare
In a historic week thats seen the English football team out of Europe and a significant resignation from its leader you might have missed that some other less important stuff has been going on. Remember, in the words of the late great Bill Shankly, “Football is not a matter of life or death, its much much more important than that”.
As a nation, we voted for Brexit. Speculation is rife, no one can tell us yet what out of Europe might look like. As business owners and leaders that isn’t an excuse to do nothing. Now is the time to start thinking about what life out of Europe might be like, and what it might mean for our businesses and the people we employ.
But with so many unknowns, where do you start? What do you do in the next 100 days?
Kevin and Graham talk through 10 things to consider and to start taking positive action. There will be winners and losers as the UK comes out of Europe, we are convinced the winners will be those businesses thinking ahead, planning and taking advantage of opportunities as they come along.
Our ten tips break down into two clear areas:
- Be aware of the risks you face, and think about how you mitigate them. Think about your customers, your suppliers, and your people. What might change, and how would you deal with it?
- Communicate well. Be confident and be positive. Show your stakeholders – Customers, suppliers, employees, investors, that you are in control of your business, you know the impact coming out of Europe will have and you are doing the right things.
In times of huge change spreading the right positive message is vitally important. Communicate strongly, frequently and by all means available to you. Make sure you are on top of your game!
